Southwestern College's Learning Resource Center and Library in Chula Vista occupies Building 64 on the main campus at 900 Otay Lakes Road, housing 98,244 volumes and circulating 13,890 items annually for an enrollment base of approximately 11,920 FTE students. The facility functions as the college's interdisciplinary research hub alongside Film, Television, and Media Arts studios, multimedia services, and a tutoring center — a postsecondary resource concentration that complements the vocational-training pipeline at UEI College - Chula Vista. Off-campus database access through MySWC authentication gives currently enrolled students remote entry to research databases, e-journals, and eBook collections identical to on-campus terminal access. The LRC also houses the Distance Education office, the Online Learning Center, and professional-development conference rooms, consolidating academic-support infrastructure into a single building on the north side of campus. Community users access reference-area computers for catalog browsing and database searches, extending the college's knowledge resources to the broader South Bay population served by organizations such as South Bay Community Services. The highest-complexity research services include interlibrary-loan fulfillment through OCLC WorldCat, embedded-librarian instruction sessions aligned to specific course syllabi, and archival-collection access supporting the college's WASC-accredited associate-degree and certificate programs.
