Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita stands on the grounds of Glen Abbey Memorial Park as a non-sectarian chapel built in 1925, modeled as an exact-scale replica of Lord Tennyson's chapel in Somersby, England. The chapel hosts memorial services, funerals, weddings, and quinceañeras for all faiths, a multi-denominational event function shared across the South Bay's worship corridor with congregations such as Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Architectural details include a circular stained-glass window over the altar illustrating a verse from Tennyson's “Crossing the Bar,” a second massive stained-glass depiction of the Resurrection, and amber skylights that fill the nave with diffused natural light. Post-ceremony receptions and catered gatherings extend beyond the Glen Abbey campus to larger off-site halls, with Swiss Park & Hall San Diego accommodating seated dinner counts that exceed the chapel's intimate nave capacity. The chapel sits on a high mesa with panoramic views of San Diego Harbor, the Coronado Bay Bridge, Point Loma, and the downtown skyline — a sightline established when the memorial park's first interment occurred in 1924 and landscape consultant Kate Sessions selected the original tree plantings.
