About

Since 1955, South Bay Pentecostal Church in Chula Vista has occupied the corner of Fourth Avenue and D Street in the heart of western Chula Vista's civic core. Affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, the congregation delivers Acts 2:38 doctrine through bilingual English and Spanish services, sharing the South Bay's Apostolic Pentecostal tradition with nearby assemblies such as Hilltop Tabernacle on the Hilltop Drive corridor. South Bay Christian Academy, the church's on-campus K–8 school, provides faith-integrated academics with individualized instruction ratios, adding a full educational arm to the ministry. Midweek Bible study convenes each Wednesday evening, supplementing the primary worship gathering with verse-by-verse teaching that feeds into the church's elder-care visitation ministry—a program that extends pastoral support to homebound members in partnership with resources at Norman Park Senior Center. The multicultural, multigenerational congregation fills a 500-plus-seat sanctuary originally constructed in the late 1950s and expanded to accommodate concurrent Spanish-language worship at the D Street campus.
