Founded in 1998, Iglesia Palabra Viva in Chula Vista is a United Pentecostal Church International congregation on Broadway that teaches the Acts 2:38 baptismal doctrine entirely in Spanish. The UPCI-affiliated church runs a Wednesday Word Discipleship midweek study alongside its Sunday worship, and the youth ministry's musical development connects teens to instrumental training at programs such as School of Rock in the South Bay. Worship follows the Oneness Pentecostal tradition's emphasis on congregational praise, altar-call prayer, and Spirit-filled ministry, blending contemporary Latin American worship music with traditional hymns. Children's ministry and Bible study programs operate during both the Sunday and midweek services, and community-service initiatives target the Broadway corridor residential blocks between H Street and E Street. The church's adult-education referrals connect congregation members with English-language and vocational programs at Chula Vista Adult School to support workforce development across the South Bay. The Broadway Suite N and M worship space seats approximately 120 across two connected suites with a raised platform stage, a five-piece praise-band backline, and a 12-channel digital mixer feeding ceiling-mounted speakers.
