About

LEGOLAND California Resort in Carlsbad opened on March 20, 1999, as the first LEGOLAND park built outside Europe, and now spans 128 acres off Palomar Airport Road with more than 60 rides, shows, and attractions designed for children ages 2 through 12. Owned by Merlin Entertainments, the resort includes two on-site themed hotels, the seasonal Water Park, and SEA LIFE Aquarium, drawing families who often base their trips at nearby properties like Cape Rey Carlsbad Beach, a Hilton Resort and Spa. Miniland USA alone contains more than 30,000 LEGO models constructed from over 60 million bricks, replicating landmarks from San Diego, Las Vegas, New York City, and Washington, D.C. at 1:20 scale. The newest themed lands — Dino Valley and LEGO Galaxy — join NINJAGO World, LEGO Movie World, and Pirate Shores across a layout that generates significant dining demand at Carlsbad restaurants like Campfire in Bressi Ranch. Four roller coasters, eight water rides, and a LEGO CITY: Deep Sea Adventure submarine ride that submerges guests among live marine animals and over 2,000 LEGO models anchor the park's ride infrastructure.
