About

San Diego Regional Center's North County office in Carlsbad, at 5931 Priestly Drive, serves as the local access point for developmental-disability services mandated under California's Lanterman Act. As one of 21 regional centers statewide, SDRC coordinates Individual Program Plans for persons with intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism — conditions often co-managed with specialists at Mindpath Health in the same North County corridor. The center serves over 48,000 individuals and families across San Diego and Imperial counties with a staff of approximately 1,000 and a combined annual budget exceeding $1.2 billion. California Early Start services at the Priestly Drive office provide intake, evaluation, and individualized family service plans for infants and toddlers from birth to 36 months who show developmental delays or established risk conditions. Purchased services range from supported employment and adult day programs to physical and occupational therapy through community partners including Longevity Physical Therapy in Bressi Ranch, all coordinated through each client's planning team. The Priestly Drive location is one of six SDRC field offices — alongside Kearny Mesa, Santee, National City, San Marcos, and Chula Vista — processing intake applications for any San Diego or Imperial County resident believed to have a qualifying developmental disability under the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act.
