About

Carlsbad Windmill by Wedgewood Weddings is a reimagined Dutch-style landmark on Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad, visible from Interstate 5 since the original structure was built for the Pea Soup Andersen Company in 1982. A multimillion-dollar renovation completed before the 2019 reopening transformed the windmill into a 250-seat wedding venue with a cathedral-ceiling grand ballroom, exposed-beam rustic detailing, and a hardwood dance floor, complemented by reception dessert staging from Village bakeries including Dolce Aroma Italian Bakery. Two dedicated ceremony sites — an indoor chapel with vaulted ceilings and oversized windows, and an outdoor garden framed by mature trees — offer distinct backdrops within the same 92011 campus. The enclosed terrace features a full-length fireplace, hanging bistro lamps, and greenery accents under a shaded canopy structure designed for cocktail-hour flow between the ceremony and reception spaces. All-inclusive packages from the Wedgewood Weddings national platform bundle coordination, catering, bar service, and AV into a single contract, with on-site photography coverage available through vendor networks that include Marie Monforte Photography. The facility's observation-deck level at the windmill tower provides a 360-degree vantage point for aerial-perspective portrait sessions, with the Carlsbad Flower Fields to the east and the Pacific coastline to the west visible in a single frame.
